It’s a quip many of us can use today. Someone asks you, “Where’s the best food in town?”  Your answer: “My place.”

Thank Covid.

The COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions, as horrible as it was, also created a culinary renaissance as we turned to our kitchens for comfort, creativity, health and safety.

We saw it – and responded to it immediately — here at Undercover Jetsetter. Because we cover five categories – Travel, Food, Wine, Mixology, and Golf – we could re-direct our efforts to help people even when they were confined at home.  As you will see below, we created segments and shows that allowed you to stay at home to cook and entertain, so you could – and you still can – jet set at home.

You’re A Foodie and You’re A Foodie

And, the Covid effect on at-home cooking isn’t going away anytime soon.

Here’s why:

  • Health and Wellness: home-cooked meals made from fresh ingredients beat over-processed foods.  And so many of us expect this now knowing how it could affect our lives.
  • Cost-Effective: Cooking at home is cheaper than a restaurant.
  • Restaurants Closing: There has been a surge of closings and bankruptcies in the restaurant business.  Look at what’s happening with Red Lobster.  For many restaurants, inflation raised food prices making a home-cooked meal an easy economic choice for most of us.
  • Social Connections Better at Home: Cooking meals with family and friends allows you to really stay connected. We showed you our golf getaway to Pinehurst with 16 of us.  The joy of the event was all of us cooking for each other in the mansion we booked.  It was far more personal and fun than sitting at a large restaurant table.
  • Food Media: Shows like ours are not few.  You can find influencers on social media who are inventive, fun cooks.  Just turn on the Food Network and get inspired.

Here’s some more Undercover Jetsetter inspiration.

First, this is our Pinehurst Golf Trip with food.

This is one of our most popular recipes: The Air Fryer Pork Loin.  One of the other results from Covid at-home cooking was the introduction of the Air Fryer to so many kitchens.  We have a ton of them on our pages.  But this one is the most popular with more than 150,000 views.

How about our Pizza Hack to do at home.

Here’s a full show with 8 of some of our best home recipes you should try.

Then we created a virtual Holiday Party with some of our best mixology recipes.

Enjoy, Jetsetters.
