As you know, we love to travel.  But we love to travel even when we are not traveling.

One of the best ways is to hit a great restaurant with a special cuisine that will take you there through your palate and other senses.

And we found one in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

It is Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse.

There are two others in South Carolina: one in nearby Myrtle Beach; and also in the capital city Columbia.
Two jetsetter friends gave us a tip about Rioz.

“We have to get a group of us to hit the Happy Hour there,” they said.

So, we did.

And it went above and beyond their recommendation.

As you will see, Rioz follows the incredible tradition of

South Brazilian cuisine.

Southern Brazilian cooking, especially the beef part, is unique due to its traditional method of cooking that adds a whole new dimension to the flavor profile of the beef.

One of the most famous dishes of Southern Brazilian cuisine is Churrasco, which is a style of barbeque that originated in the Pampas region.

This dish involves slow-cooking large cuts of meat over a wood fire, which imparts a smoky flavor to the beef, along with tender texture and juiciness.

The preparation of beef churrasco involves seasoning the meat with coarse sea salt and cooking it on a skewer until it is evenly charred on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.

Come Hungry

The cooking process is done in a special arrangement whereby the meat is often brought to the table in the form of an all-you-can-eat buffet.

This allows diners to taste various cuts of beef, each with its distinct flavor and texture.

In addition to this, Southern Brazilian cooking also uses a lot of fresh herbs, spices, and other flavorful ingredients like garlic, onion, and chili peppers, which further enhance the taste of the beef.

We experienced all of this Brazilian cooking while in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Happy Hour

But Rioz also offered some Happy Hour choices that are also worth your time – especially if you are visiting for a beach or golf getaway.  If you live here, this will be a regular stop.

Besides the food, the staff has a number of Brazilian born transplants who just add to the welcoming and accepting culture.

Watch and enjoy.
