Grabbing You By The Tay-Tay
Granted, this latest edition of the Carolina Buzz Daly Digest tried to grab your attention by talking about Taylor Swift coming to Sunset Beach.
Don’t worry. Sunset Beach will not see massive traffic jams from Tay-Tay fans and their parents driving them — just summer beach goers.
The reality is, as we explain, Ingram Planetarium in Sunset Beach has an impressive laser show highlighting Taylor’s music. Right now, it is only showing on Thursday nights at 6 PM throughout the summer. However, that could change.
One reason: the first night sold out immediately.
In another segment, we profiled the incredibly lush conditions at Meadowlands golf club in Calabash. Everyone is raving about them, so we went and found out for ourselves.
The greens are slick and approaching U.S. Open style.
You’ll also notice that we interviewed some of the golfers who are making up the majority of visitors and residence living in the Calabash and Carolina Shores area. We had fun interviewing Bob and Janice Zdun, who are transplants from Windsor Locks, Connecticut, which is not too far from where I lived and grew up.
Sipping, Helping Ukraine
Then we went down to Longs, South Carolina to the Parkway Liquor store on Route-9. Our colleague, AJ, Gohil, alerted us to the vodka tasting that was happening there that had the interesting news twist of getting donations for Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself against Russia.
And then we explored what is going on on Highway 17 in Brunswick Plantation. If you’ve driven by there lately, you realize that there is no construction work. It’s just a sea of orange traffic cones and overgrown grass. So we did a little investigation. As you will hear, we found that the construction company that was contracted went bankrupt. We are told a new company should be starting before the end of July. No one could say how this would affect the final results of the construction or timeline.
