A 50 YEAR TRADITION, IT’S ABOUT THE PEOPLE, DONUTS

The sports landscape has been very full with SuperBowl 56 this past weekend and the Bejing Olympics. But, the racing world is ratcheting up as well.

All eyes are focused on Daytona Beach Florida as NASCAR’s top 3 series tackle the 2.5 mile Daytona International Speedway with Trucks on Friday, Xfinity on Saturday and then the DAYTONA 500 Sunday for the Cup Series.

Rusty Marcus who is the General Manager of the New Smyrna Speedway drops in for a visit and shares the track’s 50 year Speedweek tradition that sees the track host short trackers from around America  in their version of Speedweeks in the annual World Series of Asphalt Racing on the high banked half miler.

Jack visits with the Competition Director of Stewart Haas Racing, Greg Zipadelli and we talk about this next gen car as well as SHR’s 2022 outlook. “Zippy” as he is known in the industry also shares some insight into what the future might be for newly signed fill in driver Ryan Preece.

And, old friend, Alex Palou swings by. One year ago, the smiling Spaniard was just getting to know his new Chip Ganassi IndyCar Team and now he is ending his off season as the Series Champion.
