We have another podcast for you. So sit back, grab a drink, and listen in as we take you to Hong Kong, London, San Francisco, and the American Deep South.

We will warn you here. Part of this has a touch of sadness, because of what is happening in Hong Kong with the crackdown by the Chinese communist government.

Hong Kong: Should You Go?

Well, the US State Department has warned Americans that traveling to mainland China, or Hong Kong may be potentially dangerous, cautioning US citizens about arbitrary detention and interrogations by Communist-backed police.

That doesn’t sound fun or relaxing.

Instead, we urge you to go on a virtual listening tour with us — to remember what Hong Kong was.

It kills us since Hong Kong was the best place to celebrate the fireworks explosions of Chinese New Year. In addition, Hong Kong had some of the best nightlife with great food and live entertainment — which you will hear about in this show.

As you can tell, we have been to Hong Kong numerous times. And up until the crack down, we considered this one of our favorite cities.

This segment was recorded back in 2016. And you can still feel the energy running through this cultural and business Mecca.

We hit the fashion District and even bought a tailored suit — which we still have.

And Hong Kong still has one of the fanciest McDonald’s ever. We stopped in to try a burger and the healthy salads. It had the feel of a Whole Foods.

Dining with Gordon in London

Next, we hit London with Gordon. Gordon Ramsay, of course.

We are a big fan of his restaurants. In London, we hit Heddon Street Kitchen.

Everything was superb. Some of it was a gooey delight with runny eggs.

And all of it is piping hot, which led us to talk about Gordon‘s television angry, screamer persona. From our sources, we hear Gordon off-camera is a pussy cat.

But when you go to his restaurants, you see the attention to detail, including the piping hot dishes, which explains that fake television persona.

Travel to UK Now?

Now, we should also give you a little update about traveling to London, in the UK.

Right now, the Brits are facing some economic problems, barely avoiding a recession. Their decision on Brexit has hurt them more than anybody thought. Ironically, when we were in London for this recording, the idea of Brexit was first launched, and we watched the first news reports on a  BBC Newscast.

So, should you go to London? The answer is yes.

We would suggest going anytime from March through early October — for superb weather.

A second factor is, because of the economic troubles, the British Pound has dropped dramatically against the US dollar so the exchange rate is very favorable to Americans.

Foodie Trucking in SanFran

Next, we fly you to San Francisco. We explore the food truck craze that may have gotten it start in the bay area, but it certainly boomed there.

We devoured delicacies from two food trucks that were in the same area.

Tres Truck is a Mexican food delight.

As you will hear, they had a twist on the hot dog using Kobe beef. And we got a chance to taste Mexican Coca-Cola, which is different from the Coca-Cola in America.

The other food is Mana Japanese Comfort Food. And we had a pokey salmon wrap that was incredible.

We also explore why the food truck phenomena happened in the early years of the 21st-century.

Food Trucks and Covid

And because we did this segment before the Covid pandemic, we’ve done some research since then that shows that the food truck industry did very, very well when Covid hit. Many food truck owners found themselves as a needed benefit to many people who stayed at home. They took orders by phone or email and then delivered to the customers’ homes.

So, like podcasts, the food truck actually thrived despite the pandemic.

Antebellum Golf

What also thrived is golf. And next, we jet set to Pawleys Island, South Carolina. That is about an hour north of Charleston, South Carolina.

This is golf heaven. We played Blackmoor Golf Course, which is a Gary Player design, and Willbrook Plantation, that has an antebellum feel.

We highly recommend to stay and play at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort. It has everything you want: nearby restaurants; a chance to cook your own gourmet meals in your apartment; along with access to some of the best walking beaches in the world.

We went in December and could still enjoy everything as temperatures were in the high 50s and low 60s throughout the days.

Well, now it’s your turn to dive into the podcast. Tell us what you think.
