It’s not often you taste something so good; you’re speechless.

It happened at Coco Sushi Lounge in Delray Beach, Florida.

In addition to the taste, the dish was also a gift from the chef.

That kindness brought me back to six or seven years ago when we launched Undercover Jetsetter.

That’s when we did restaurant reviews we really had to go undercover.

Why Are You Videotaping Our Food?

If a restaurant employee saw us shooting video of the food, they would come over and interrogate us.

What are you doing? Who are you from? Why are you doing this?

That was a time when the app yelp was beginning to make in-roads on people’s smart phones.

Restaurants wanted to avoid any negative comments that would turn off potential customers.

Slowly, that type of fear changed. The onslaught of social media and influencers changed restaurant management’s outlook. They began to see people using their phones to create free, marketing materials.

And, as our show began to pick up viewers, we felt the love rather than the rejection as well.

Coco’s Warm Reception

We felt that at Coco’s that night. When someone on the restaurant staff approaches me as I am shooting video, I always share with them our video pages.

As you know, we do no negative segments. If we go to a restaurant, and their food is not up to par, we just don’t do a segment on it.

One of the waitresses at Coco recognized Undercover Jetsetter.

And Then, The Piece De Resistance

And as I spoke to the chef about his sushi, he felt more comfortable. (I did not interview him since he was not very fluent in English.)

After slowly gorging myself, chef presented me with the dish I will never forget.

Thank you, Chef Zheng.

See for yourself.
